In 1989 Teston celebrated the bi-centenary of James Ramsay. Ramsay was rector in Teston and campaigned for the abolition of the slave trade. Many villagers dressed in period costume at the annual fete.

Every year in Teston a small group (The Testonites) produce a revue. In 2000 the title was
